Welcome to the RISE Anyabwelé Academy course offerings. Our schedules are based on national requirements for homeschooling, teacher availability, and student demand or interests.
We are an African-centered virtual support co-op for homeschooling families globally. All classes are blended by level of understanding, mastery of skills, and confidence in the demonstration thereof. Our entire student body is taught through tribes, but scholars are placed in the tribe that best fits their needs for each subject area.
The Akan Tribe serves PreK-Kindergarten level students, which usually ranges in age from 3 years to 6 years. Most of their guided instruction is offline, which is essential for this age group. The Massai Tribe serves 6-8 year-old scholars in 1st-2nd grade level studies. The Bassa Tribe meets the needs of third and fourth grade level scholars, regardless of age. The senior elementary group, the Yoruba Tribe, prepares our fifth grade scholars for the transition to middle school. And, our current highest level is the Ashanti Tribe, which prepares our 6th-8th grade scholars for their academic future.
Below is a description of our curriculum, the current course offerings for each tribe, and a listing of our packages. There are four different plans from which to choose:
- Full-Time Monthly- Includes four core courses (Math, Science, Language Arts, History/Social Studies), and one elective of choice. It also includes our cultural components of RISE Rituals, access to our monthly themed events, and the digital content for the core subjects. These courses do not meet live unless indicated by the instructor.
- Part-Time Monthly- Includes two core courses (Choose from Math, Science, Language Arts, or History/Social Studies), our cultural component of Rituals, and access to our monthly themed events. These courses do not meet live unless indicated by the instructor.

You have the option of selecting from the individual course offerings based on availability. These courses do not meet live unless requested by the instructor.
Virtual course tasks are only offered Mon-Thurs of each week. Freedom Friday is observed to allow scholars reprieve and an opportunity to prepare for the following week. It’s also an opportunity for families to spend time together and focus on the specific needs and interests of the Imani Geniuses.
